Restaurant El Jardín
Inspired by the contrasts of the rainforest, Chef George Belesis crafted a menu that blends Costa Rican tradition with bold creativity. Using fresh local ingredients, our dishes celebrate flavor, simplicity, and excellence—without pretension.
Signature creations include shrimp tostadas with avocado mousse, beef tenderloin in blackberry-coffee sauce, black risotto with grilled seafood, and a decadent lava cake with salted rum caramel and vanilla ice cream.
Set within our greenhouse garden, every meal becomes a sensory journey—where nature speaks through every bite.

Our gardens and trails invite you to reconnect with the essence of the cloud forest. The property features two private trails: the Ficus Trail (213 m) and the Agouti Trail (380 m), the latter leading to a peaceful stream that flows alongside the lodge. Both paths wind through Monteverde’s characteristic secondary forest, offering excellent chances to spot local flora and fauna such as agoutis, coatis, white-faced capuchin monkeys, and iconic birds like the motmot, toucans, and the crested guan.
The gardens are planted with vibrant, multicolored flowers that attract hummingbirds, butterflies, and other pollinators, creating a lively and colorful natural spectacle. You’ll also find a small koi pond—perfect for moments of reflection and serenity.
Scattered throughout the property are several lookout points where you can take in sweeping views of the surrounding forest, breathe in the fresh mountain air, and immerse yourself in the magic of Monteverde.
